 We here at Stardust Heavenly Ranch strive to produce the best Chihuahuas that we possibly can. We breed to the AKC standard of the breed, for health, superb temperament, and an all around sound dog. All of our dogs are raised around children, and other animals. All of our Chihuahuas are house dogs, they live in our home with us, and they are part of our family! We occasionally have puppies available to approved homes only. My name is Lisa and I was a Veterinary Technician for 15 years. I have a true love and admiration for the breed. We have been breeding Chihuahuas since 2002. They are a great breed, and will make a wonderful addition in the right families. 

 

Chihuahuas are great little dogs, but they are a dog that is not suited for everyone. Despite their small stature, Chihuahuas are very strong, hardy dogs. Chihuahuas are very people oriented dogs. They need to have a lot of human contact. They seem to thrive on it. They often will pick one or two people in the household to which they will form a great attachment. That is not to say that they will not be friendly to all in the household. All of our Chihuahuas go readily to anyone in the house and they love visitors, too. Chihuahuas have an attitude about themselvs which seems to say that they are larger than life itself. Chihuahuas are very intelligent dogs, they are eager to please and yet can be very stubborn at times. Since Chihuahuas are so small it is vital that if they are around small children that they be supervised closely as they can easily get hurt, and the children need to be taught how to handle and care for such a small dog. The same goes for them being around larger dogs, they must be supervised closely as they can easily get hurt while playing with other dogs that are larger than they are. In todays society a lot of people are wanting a very small Chihuahua, some breeders are calling them "Teacups" and while there is no such thing as a "Teacup" of any breed of dog, they seem to be very popular and remember most Chihuahuas will get a bit to big to carry around in a purse as an adult and they do have a long lifespan. Please be careful when purchasing a Chihuahua that is being sold as a "Teacup" as a great many of these dogs have underlying health issues that can greatly diminish their lifespan, so please do your homework to help ensure that you are getting a healthy sound puppy. With this in mind please make sure that the Chihuahua is the right dog for you. Remember, owning a dog is a lifetime commitment, that will bring many years of joy to you and your family.

 

We strongly believe that each and every puppy that we produce is our responsibility for it's lifetime. That is why we strive to find the most suitable home for every puppy that we produce. Each and every Chihuahua that we adopt out must be an indoor pet, it must live primarly in the home and sleep inside. If for any reason you are not able to keep your puppy/dog that you have adopted from us you must first contact us and we will attempt to help you to find a new home for them. They are not under any circumstances to be surrendered to an animal shelter, pound, pet store, or rescue group. If  we are unable to find a new home in a timely manner then the puppy/dog is to be returned to us at the owners expense, we will then continue the process of attempting to find a them a new home. We expect that you will seek the proper Veterinary care that is needed for the life of the puppy/dog. We are strongly committed to our dogs and finding the best possible home for each and everyone of them.

All of our puppies will be at least 8 weeks old before they leave our home and will have had their first two sets of vaccinations and dewormings. If at the age of  8 weeks old we feel that the puppy is not ready to go to their new family, then we will keep the puppy until it is ready to go to its new family, usually just an extra week or so. They will be Veterinary checked and have a health certificate. If your puppy is needed to be shipped they will have a new airline approved kennel, a new blanket and insurance will be taken out for the flight. They will have been socialized since birth with other animals and people. All of our precious little Chihuahua puppies will be handled and loved on daily! We start on house training with the use of wee wee pads. All of our puppies are born and raised in our home, not in a kennel, this way they are acustomed to all the hussel and bussel of an active household and adapt much easier to changes in their environment.

We also offer for sale piglets (Hampshire/Yorkshire) crosses several times a year, sex link chickens and fresh eggs, and also Pygmy goat kids several times a year. Our pigs are raised on a corn diet and they are very lean and muscular due to the fact that they have free roam over several acres of land as do the goats.
